The nice thing about market economies is that no one will force you to. :-)
I did put down the money on a eurovan and would make that same decision again today. Factory high roof, tons of space for solar, open-flat rear doors, battery mounted in cab for easy isolation to house bank, no wasted floor space at the sliding door, clever headlight and bumper design, etc.
Horses for courses and all that.
