Well… my mechanic comes over tomorrow morning (Sat) to do the exhaust manifold.
Can we start a prayer circle.. I really don’t want to have to float the time/expense of broken bolts!
I have a trip planned in a couple weeks…

Thanks!

Spray the bolts with PBlaster today and let it soak overnight.
Less likely to snap bolts and is better than just waiting for the repair to spray 'em.
Might not make any difference but worth doing if it does !

Been spraying everyday or two for the last 2 weeks

You should be good.

RE: Code name “Baby” - rvpopeye - 12-01-2023

Excellent , your chances of no snaps are WAY better because of it . still no guarantees though... Sending a box of karma by overnight crow delivery.. on second thought the crows have been kinda obsessed with food lately I'll have Scotty beam it over..........hmmm we actually have a Scotty here ! COOL !

when I was getting ready to do upper ball jlints, and awaiting delivery of special socket to unthread them,.i was hitting the seam with PB blaster daily.

Day 2 i went in with a strong light and glasses, then used a dental pic kn the seam, then wire brushed it, and it seemed that subsequent squirts of ob blaster were sucked into the seam.

when i got the socket on it, with 3 foot breKer bar, i was e xpecting to have to but out 6' breKer bar, but soon as i leaned back, it busted loose and i fell over. the threads inside were all wet with PB blaster.

However E manifold bolts are a nightmare. I refuse to touch mine.again after breaking an ez out inside one back on 06 or so.

Wirebrush the heads and see if a metric socket can fit tighter than fractional, and if one snaps, can you get a drill in there?

Stern.. no clue man..

Thanks everyone- for the good thoughts.. maybe I will sleep.. lol

I will clear the seams tonight, when I get up- and PBb it again and let it soak.

Never worry about snapped bolts until they snap. Then , I guess you can say Oh snap !
