I did that once mudbunny. It was a natural fix for me ! LOL
I was headed to a gig in Tucson from uptah camp. After 1500 miles the right rear axle sheared off while I was driving through nowhere Arkansas . The whistle sound was a wheel bearing and speaking of wheels , mine was giving off a cloud of steam in a field of rice. The other end was trying to ignite the pool of 90w that was coming out of the rear end. Both axle pieces were a wonderful shade of orange
It was 2 am. A very interesting day was to soon follow.
I never played music while driving after that.
Of course my job was basically a giant stereo so I was hardly deprived and maybe my ears ring a tiny bit less today because of it.
Keep looking Gypsy, you'll find it. Or at least know it's not coming from anything serious.
THEN you can blast the tunes !
I'd suggest native american flute and you won't even have to blast it either.
It ALL sounds like a wind whistling but has cool reverb too !

Alas- blasting tunes is not an option.. for several reasons
a: Miss Knez has sensitive dog-ears
b: I have severe sensory issues, and rarely play music.. and it is super distracting while driving.
At this point- I am about ready to give up on finding the source.
It is nothing ‘dangerous’ as it is environmental- based on road speed and wind direction .. not like a vacuum leak or a wheel bearing or whatever.

Ok— here’s a Weird one for ya…
On first/cold start of the day.. occasionally it seems like the alternator is not kicking in. There is a lag.
And the voltage begins a slow drop. It will recover fine if I rev the gas a bit.. it then goes rapidly up to 13.6-14.2 range and runs just fine.
The voltage regulator is part of the ecm (which has been replaced recently) and the alternator is working fine (has also been replaced recently)
I’m confused as to what the heck is going on.

Re do the ground or add one if it's just using the bolt . Both wouldn't hurt ya.

Lolol - which ground.. ? Any in particular, or just begin hunting all nooks and crannies for wires bolted to body?? Lol
Also- wondering how much Sweat effects grounding longevity.. ugly hot/humid here now.
