Just speaking for myself, I wish there were more of a fusion of hiking and vandweller site-
Not badmouthing CRVL (In THIS post at least!), but matter of factly people there seemed, perhaps, too old to hike, so there were only a few responses ...

Perhaps it's too narrow an interest.

BoondockersUnited.com has a visible to the public page about the AZ/CA LTVAs, with good directions to them, description, details. Helpful to have them all there together.

Lots of good hiking into the hills around Quartzite.

We were way out by Dripping Springs when we passed a French couple on bicycles. This was at least 10 miles from pavement.

There is interest in everything out there. The walking fans are well represented. Especially at the magic circle.

There were people that like to hike. I’m unable but sure wish I could.

Really?

I just thought it was a rathole desert!

Nope. Ask Cammilu. She has that UTV and went all over the place, and when I went with her, there were lots of hikers. Mountains and big rocky places. If I were a hiker, I think I'd really like it.

If I remember right(which is a big IF) the LTVA next to the Holtville CA Hotsprings required your vehicle to be 100% self contained with black/grey water tanks.

That requirement would put it off limits to me and a lot of rigs.

Is this common for LTVA areas?

I go down to the pond and feed the bluegill, bass and turtles then do my best to break a mower or chainsaw.  I drove thru the John Deere dealer yesterday to window shop. How I wish I could buy one of those little subcompact tractors with the bucket on one end and back hoe on the other.  Along with a bush hog that would make short work of this place.

We go to Dr appointments and play on the farm. We never moved back in the house and are still in the RV. I guess we are fulltiming because I don’t ever plan to move into the house again.

This place will be wayyyyy better than when we got here by the time we leave.  I still haven’t done a thing to sell off some never again needed items but I hope to before we take off again.

We are still looking for another rental property nearby but no luck so far.

Night rolls around and I’m feeding the night critters that come for food.  Several of the raccoons will now climb the ladder outside my window and take marshmallows from my hand. Boy they are cute!

We need to do a little work on the RV. The step comes in and out while driving down the road but since we are stationary for now it hasn’t been a priority.

There are invisible bugs that are eating me alive. I have what looks like mosquito bites everywhere but never see an insect. What the hell is up with that?  I’m scratching like a cat with fleas.

Anyone coming through our area be sure to stop for a mini gtg.
Chiggers.

https://freecampsites.net/#!4038&query=sitedetails looks like you need to be self contained to stay at that one.
