hello all,
i just found this forum and decided to give it a whirl. i'm on another
forum that many of you are also on and just spending quite a bit of
time for the eventual (hopeful) takeoff when i retire. my wife and i
still do tent camping a bit, so we are use to some aspects of life in the
wild (our big trip to date was 20 yrs ago when we spent a week back-
packing the Gila Wilderness in southern NM--still one of my favorite areas).
anyhoo, i'm just learning and asking questions and hope i eventually can
join ya'll on the road!
jim

Hi Welcome!,

Tent camping is excellent practice for life on the road, as if you can tent camp you can most definitely vehicle camp in comfort. I used to do a lot of back packing before Lyme put me on the sidelines.
Were a much smaller group than over there, but each site has it's advantages and disadvantages much like most of life. Look forward to watching your progress as you get ready for life on the road. I'm still stuck in a stick and bricks myself at the moment.

A warm welcome from the international chapter. If you can be comfortable in a tent then everything else is gravy.
Ask and enjoy
