Majority Of National Park Service Board Resigns, Citing Administration Indifference - TedOnWalkabout - 01-17-2018

Just saw this, I wonder what the end result will be for John Q.Public:

"Three-quarters of the seats on the U.S. National Park Service advisory board are vacant following a mass resignation Monday night, citing Interior Secretary Ryan Zinke's unwillingness to meet with them."

I'm not surprised.  A few days ago on the net a news story link popped up
re: Reduction in size of 2 National Monuments in Utah.

On USA news 12/05/17 it stated that US President Trump signed a document reducing
Bear Ears Nat Mn by 85% to 201,876acs
and Grand Staircase Escalante Nat Mn by 39% to 1million acs.

So now what happens and who is responsible for the lands that are no longer protected as National Monuments?

My issue with this is by abandoning your seat you give way for them to fill it with their cronies and then anything they want to do goes through. Although very frustrating, sometimes getting nothing done is actually getting something done.

My understanding is that Bear Ears didn't even EXIST until Obama created it in 2016 by Executive Order.

Personally, I would prefer that our elected representatives VOTED on these things, instead.

I'm not sure that an ADVISORY board could actually stop them from doing whatever the hell they want to do.
