Past Dizzy - Gunny - 01-18-2018 Went to get my labs and have my low grade fever checked. Flu. Early stage so not so big of a deal but still crappy with my COPD. Into each life a little rain. Temps here got into the single digits and running water or not it froze the filter harder than my ex-wife’s heart. Lack of water and the little plus things the flu give you made for a fun time. I’m blessed with nice neighbors who tried to feed me and the thought of food isn’t good. I hate it that I missed RTR but it is what it is. Water filter is what froze, so no great loss, just a little time. Rob RE: Past Dizzy - rvpopeye - 01-18-2018 Eeeeewwwww Fluuuuuuuuuuuuu ! I hate when that happens ! Especially sucky when it's cold out ..... When it gets that cold Fill your inside water tank and remove the hose and filter and only use to refill the tank. The on board pump won't give as much pressure as most CG water but it will work . Leave the holding tank valves closed until you need to dump. You really don't want THAT hose frozen up ! Actually, the black water tank is ALWAYS supposed to be closed until you are ready to dump, regardless of temperature. Otherwise, the liquids drain out, leaving the solids behind, and it builds up to a large, hard, almost-impossible-to-remove mound. Yes, having such neighbors is a blessing, and I'm sure they know you're worth the effort. The weather has warmed up to 32 and I’ve got the shakes with a down comforter around me. I will probably head that way. I’ve kept comfortable with two small electric heaters but I lose heat fast. I don’t know how cold it was when I was lighting the onboard heaters pilot but the coffee in my cup was beginning to freeze. Oh what fun. RE: Past Dizzy - Gunny - 01-18-2018 I was waiting for that..... yep, in the storage shed so it wouldn’t get stolen. Pure brilliance on my part. Rob |
