The answer to this question is the difference between freedom and slavery.
In freedom you are free to help those less fortunate, and in fact the best way to get rich is to make millions of people’s lives better— eg look at the human potential the iPhone has unlocked globally.
In slavery there is someone who claims they own your life and thus they have the right to place their “need” above your “desires”.
They often will point to the less fortunate as an example but inevitably they are the ones getting rich.
This is seen in, for instance our welfare system where something like %25 of the money stolen in taxes is actually used to help people.
Private charities on the other hand tend to spend %10 or less of their income on overhead— and are far more morally superior because a private charities income is not stolen.
So really, it’s not a question of whether different people have different situations— they do and always will.
It’s a question of whether one group of wealthy elites should be able to abuse the poor by enslaving them and everyone else with the claim that this slavery “helps the poor”.
