This is a commercial product that is exactly what I was looking for last night, but now appears to be something I can manufacture myself. One of the cores they offer is polyisocyanurate, which is a great insulator. What’s called “poor mans fiberglass” is to use a drop cloth and paint instead of glass fiber and resin, over foam.
Others use fiberglass or aluminum screen. You can even use thin plywood.
I want to experiment with different surface materials and binding methods to see the results. Will also try aluminum sheet.
