Interesting post. I have seen first hand the devastation our 'consuming devil may care' society has had on places in the world people don't go to. Hell, I am responsible for companies like Firestone, still being able to operate without control in Liberia. While this is a private company I postponed my first van plans in 2015 and invested my vehicle fund with an investment group fund that managed to get in on this at the ground level.
I am crossing my fingers it works as it was an all my eggs in on basket thing and something I felt needed to be made a reality. Bigger money followed as this article outlines and that made me feel good about my little money.
The issue is my forever stupid circle. Doing the same thing and expecting different results is stupid. We are heating up the planet. How we are doing it and what is causing more of it is great questions for researchers. But it is a fact. Perhaps it is a natural cycle that we are speeding up. Ok, I'll buy that argument too. But does it really matter? Electric cars are great. But we have 50 million regular cars. Is it likely we will swap all those for electric before 2025? Not really. Monkies grab the low-hanging easy or cheap fruit. It is what monkies do. Fuel is what it is, low hanging fruit. So make it carbon neutral and try to fix the stuff we can. Before we can't. I spent many years living in the valley of LA. I remember mmm tastes like it is going to be a nice day today.
