This acrylic intake shroud has gained a lot of weight over the years.
The 24v papst fan is inside the Fm181 frame, and the AP182's frame. The AP182's spiral face plate has little effect on the Papst's flow.
I used some smoked acrylic to hold the illuminated switches and potentiometer and somewhat hide the large Buck/boost converter whose heatsinks only get slightly warm with both fans on high speed/ 29ish volts.
One switch is for turning on the Bucker and the papst, the second added switch is after the bucker and turns on the Delta 24v fan. The 120mm delta has its own switch and speed control potentiometer.
Both Papst and 24v 140mm Delta are speed controlled by same buck boost converter and potentiometer.
The 24v Delta is so much more powerful, it made me think the papst fan was running at half speed or something, but my Papst clamp fan has the same flow at 30v. It has redefined powerful.
The Amazing goop is still stinky so i it is still in the workshop.
If I have the Papst fan on, and at minimum speed, then switch on the Delta, the delta will not spin, it needs more voltage to start spinning on its own. I could adjust the second inline mini pot to adjust voltage higher so the delta will start, but then minimum speed of the Papst is too strong and loud, so I'll just have to make sure to not leave delta below its minimum start speed, although other deltas have seemed to deal with this without issue, but perhaps it is cumulatively damaging, and it does waste some battery juice.
Will have to go back a page or three to see just how long its been in service, but I cleaned my Ceiling 120m Delta's fan blades and steering vanes and mushroom vent of a significant amount of impacted greasy dust. It was a bit more difficult to clean than the Silverstone fm121 that was up there, like the blade smacked and compressed any dust and lint harder with higher rpm and more extreme angle of attack of the delta's fan blades.
I should have busted out the accellerometer app and seen if I could improve its balance further while it was out, but I believe it was the best of 4, IIRc in the vibration department, and all of them were pretty durned good, at least compared to the Jaros.
This and some other projects were delayed by my dremel seeming to take a dump. My biggest step drills are not big enough for my round illuminated rocker switches and the dremel makes opening up the hole another 32nd" easy peasy. I found the dremel's brushes were gone. Today I found some brushes for some other power tool and sanded them down to fit the Dremel's brush holders. It feels like a new tool, so smooth and quiet. I've ordered some new brushes, but the USA shipper wanted 12$ and a weeks to deliver. I found a seller in thailand with 3 sets for 10$ and ordered those.
So it was nice being able to modify brushes I already own and return full function without expenditure of money or having to drive to acquire new I know Ace hardware has a good selection of brushes, but I don't feel like going there.
