Newbie from PA ready for CHANGE

Encouragement: we get labeled when we roll out and hit the floor. Some labels fit equally while some labels direct us: “strong boy”, “pretty girl”. Thus begins the programming. It continues and we are usually totally unaware of this as “we” make “choices” and design our lives. School college/university/tech the programming continues: two weeks to perhaps six for summer adventures before back to the grind. Spring break reset and back at it. Winter is family time for those good or awkward (or both) moments around the table sharing food and stories cloaked by whatever religious or non religious Why you attach.

The 2.2 kids, white Pickett fence in a reasonably safe place, achieved. A cat named button, and a happy home all ticked off the “you need to do” checklist.

Ever sit in your back yard and wonder; how do 50 million individuals all have similar ideas of what Happy life is supposed to be like? Now there are all sorts of theories and some of those may too get labels attached: conspiracy. See how quickly we discount as soon as we hear that. American Dream. Different mental reaction? Lol. Kind of like Vanlife and Vanlife on Instagram.

Usually we need a shock to make us see outside our programming. A reality check. Simple words and explanations are preprogrammed to be discounted as “attach program label here”

You are you. You are free. You can do whatever you want.

The flip side:

Sometimes running with scissors will end in death just like the programming predicted. But when it doesn’t that’s a magical moment. When the grizzly bear just sits and shares your space, before moving on to do Grizzly stuff; this too is magical. When you can sit for a day and wonder what a puddle might think about if puddles could think. All the while nothing bad happens, you don’t disappear as a non productive minion and the biological repossession agents, wearing scarlet shoes, don’t show up at your door.

Rest assured you’re not crazy. The great writer Douglas Adams was the guy who wondered about puddles and I wonder...well that’s not a great example as I am probably crazy. But I am no longer broken, and not fit for polite company. This is probably as good as it gets for me.

So I encourage you to stop listening to the parade of Lemmings singing As they march off the cliff. Stretch out your arms and embrace the chaos that is before you. You can’t possibly swim against the flow of this chaos, but you can surf the hell out of it.
