So- said ‘uncle’ and took her into a highly rated shop for full diagnostic.
Came back with several things I knew and one I didn’t. They said I had a misfire on cyl 1 and that coukd be the likely cause of the jerkyness. Of course they wanted Stupid amounts of money to do a tune up ($1500!)
So I sent the diagnosis to a different mechanic- mobile guy.. and he said he could/would do that, fix the power steering leak, swap out the aging drive belt, and fix the small heater core hose leaks - all for about $1200-1500. Parts, labor, and fluids!
Needless to say, I said Yes!
