Older external voltage ragulators
When their metal body would lose a.sdid.electrical.conne tion to firewall/ground
Would.overvolt the system, 16v+common

Not that 14.8v is by itself going.to shut down the engine or.cry electronics,
With enough time it will overcharge starting battery.

Check all conne tions from battery - to.firewall, frame and engine, first, always.
Check.connections.on alternator.
Find engine.computer, see if wire harness is loose or stressed.

Find somebody with caig deOxit d5.
