I scanned your post, and my mind locked on two things. Wine storage and hairy beastie.
Sounds like the potential for a new Disney version of Beauty and the Beast in a van.
My only recommendation is to have a small brush and dustpan, and to hit the free vacuum at the mega car wash.
Everything will eventually move to where it is meant to be. I had a large rubber mat under my ice chest, with a blanket to make a cool cave for Tigger. Crack the windows, turn on the FF, and you have a spot that will be cool in the worst Texas heat.
