4.14 cell took 26mah
4.10 cell took 60mah
Charging or discharging the 3S pack, at higher rates, easily reveals the extent of the resistance between the cells, and why battery packs are welded with thick tabs to minimize such.
Also, one reason why low slow charging currernts are better, longevity wise, when chargeing time, is not an issue.
The powermax has no current limiting.
the fact this 3s battery comprised of old abused cells, can still accept over ten amps when fed 4.1v per cell, is impressive.
and this commercially available battery tech is nearly ~ 20 years old.
i need to make a current limiting charger, as even 3 voltage manual raising steps to thrice induce a 2 amp tapering charge rate, is more work than necessary, and a much faster charge rate than I require.
With lead acid flooded batteries, the cell interconnect resistance is often not considered.
Those outside cells will always be worked harder and cannot be moved from center to end like these 3S 18650 holders i am experimenting with.
When Lead acid cells get all outta line the Battery misbehaves and an equLizing overcharge is required to even them back out and reducing sulfation, maybe.
Often, its too little too late even for the peraon with the aptitude and skills to initiate one.
I will probably fail to resist the lure of some quaLity 2!700 cells,
The ryobi 18650 cells are still more tha adequate, but a sligh;tly larger heavier 2!700 cell 3s pack can more than triple the energy storage capacity, and more than double the continuous discharge rate ,even though i have no need for 50 amps from a pocket sized 12v battery, yet.
