Probably a database blowout. Just before they posted the "offline for maintenance" message it was coughing up db errors.

Their hoster is pretty clueless so I'd guess no one (including Bob) has a recent backup. Sometimes feelz just aren't enough...

That would suck. I’ve done database restores and they can be difficult if your stuff wasn’t on the latest version and fully backed up. I sure hope he isn’t in that mess. Yikes!

I emailed a few days ago and no response. Might have a lot of emails asking about it, but still... A note on the blog or a something would be a nice courtesy. Not my forum, not my call.

i'm about as clueless as you can get and have multiple backups,when you do an update a backup at the host and a weekly download backup

Webmaster can't know either, or they would have already found the hacks and repaired the corrupted coded causing the fatal errors & site down for going on 6 days.
