LOL.  I had no idea what you were talking about so I looked around I see those plans got shut down last week.  I guess I'm out of the loop. I thought about getting one for a long time but the risk of just this happening was enough to keep me away.

To clarify, it was the timing of my comment is amusing to me. I feel for all the people who recently put money into this and are now out of luck/shopping for a new internet plan. That sucks a lot.

There's no way in 'ell that I'm going to get roped in for an expensive phone! I'll use two cans and a string before I do that.

Thanks for all of the info. I'll just have to educate myself about what's available.

I heard somewhere (maybe CRVL) about getting a WiFi and a special antenna for something like $150 (I think). The person who was telling about it said that people get it, and then 'rent' out access to other RVers nearby for $5 while he's in the area (most boondocking sites are limited to 14 days). Interesting concept, if true, and probably ends up being cheaper than the more usual ways (maybe).
