Another CRVL Recruit here
#1
Hi all.  I saw rvpopeye's post in the YARC thread over there so I thought I would come and check it out.  I saw a lot of familiar names here  Cool   Wondered what happened to you guys.  I am still a somewhat active member over there as there are a lot noob's that still need help.  Bob sure seem's to attract them although he is almost inactive on the site.  He hasn't written a blog in over a year.  I think he got busy with the youtube thing and then started a charity.  His heart is in the right place though.

I know a lot of you got disillusioned there Dodgy   I am starting to lose my enthusiasm for the site and if it wasn't for the noob's, I probably wouldn't still be there.  There is at least one newer member that think he is are an expert in everything that comes up when clearly he are not.  They do seem to be knowledgeable about some things.  It is disheartening to me and I don't type well enough or have the inclination to argue with them.

Anywho, here I am, finally Big Grin

Its about time you guys showed up.

I hope to see you at YARC camp this year. This is a low pressure site. The basic rule is to not be an asshole, so I know you guys qualify.

Welcome to the site. It's a nice place to hang out and share or learn. We do have another sorta basic rule as well in that we don't talk politics or at least argue about them. Once in a while something pops up but it rarely is an issue. I think everyone here knows what side of the fence each other is on and we respect that. Again, welcome to the site.

Wish I could be there but not likely to happen.  Cindy is not doing well so am stuck giving care for awhile.

@MO - I thought not being an A$$hole included no political fighting Angel

It does but we've had other types of fighting here as well.  Those fires are quickly extinguished.  Sometimes folks think their opinion is the only opinion that matters.  It's ok to think that but when they spew it with vinegar in type it's not taken very kindly.  Gary has built a pretty cool place here and I'm often amazed at how respectful most folks are considering it is an online forum.

Welcome to the escape hatch, where we all escaped to. I have big respect for Bob and the RTR, but I did become disillusioned by stuff like “you can live on $500 a month” and the knowitalls on that forum who dispense advice when they have never left their driveway. I still post there as well as here.

This group is mostly seasoned professional full or part timers. I’ve met many of the folks here, so advice is easier to believe if you know the people who give it.

When I showed up for my first RTR, I had two other vehicles show up in my chosen flat spot between the gully’s. You guys were one of them. I moved into camp to get some work done, then went into Blythe to get the alignment done. My head gasket blew out, so I missed the rest of the gathering.

I will never forget the pizza that was dropped off out of the blue “just because “.  That memory helped me get through a lot of forced down time, and I have tried to pass it on when I can. Give Cindy a hug for me, and thanks for making my first gather start off right.

Hey B and C. I’ll bet I know who the know it all is on the CRVL.

Glad you made it over here. I think all the YARC people are here as well as some others.

Is that a Roadtrek? Got pics?
