So I thought it was the new meds added to my prescription list over the past few months for my neck/back/fall issues making me dizzy/er at times Then I thought maybe not always since I'm very stingy with them and not only cut most in 1/2, I also cut back on number of doses per day.
Now I know the culprit! It is my ageing brain after 3 years of trying to absorb and then remember what I've learned/read about solar on 2 van dwelling/RVing forums.
Even on the Begginer Solar thread here I've had some "WTF was just said " moments.
Never fear I shall persevere
Of course Queenie will be a big help as always.
I bet she knows more cuss words from hanging with me than any other Chihuahua in the modern world.
Harbor Freight has their 100 watt solar kit on sale for $ 149.00 and a 20% off coupon too. So about $109 for the kit, if I've figured correctly. Damn that kit is heavy! I could barely lift one end of it up off the shelf So it failed the "lift test" that I often use, mainly when moving from state to state. When I moved in 2007 from SD to KY two items that passed the test were a 6ft tall antique wooden kitchen cabinet from a old farmhouse and a cedar chest. Granted they were empty when I loaded them by myself. 11 years has caused a drastic change in my " Lift and Tote" limits.
I've been looking at different solar panels on the internet and what they weigh never seems to be listed.
I've also looked at the price on flexible panels recently and they are higher than a cats back!
Something just aint right when a complete 300 watt solar system + a good 12v frig/freezer cost as much as a used running van to put them on.

Jewell Ann: catch me up, please.
Have you finalized which van you'll be going with?
Definitely finalize that first.
Yes, solar makes sense (tor me) as the very next top priority.
I'm totally with you on the Brain Spinning... been there, done that!
Still doing it with my remaining issues.

We like seeing your eyes glaze over. When they roll back in your head it's like bonus points.
The next time I see you use solar and harbor freight in the same sentence I am sending Max down there to kick Queenies ass. She should know better.

Whaaa...????
Mail is out. Offer still stands for help.
It goes double for me on the harbor flotsam solar system..... I went six months without panels when I started in 2014. There are ways to do it with real parts, not factory defects.

I can sympathize-- went through this last year.
and remember- if you are going to mount them on your van.. after that, they are self-carrying. You won't have to lift them to move them.
Don't cheap out on things that can save your bacon... Having good functioning solar means you can always, in a pinch, give yourself a jumpstart.

TjJB
A typical 100w panel is about 15#,,,a little more for the bigger panels.
Forget the HF panel kit.It is not worthy...
stay tuned
