36 a gallon sounds about double what it should be. Think it's about $18 a gallon at Home Depot. A gallon would last me two years if I only used it in the weed trimmer. But if it saves you a few trips to the repair shop it should pay for itself in no time.
I have a small airport in town and I buy AV gas at and it's only $5 a gallon. I use it in my snowblower, lawnmower, weed trimmer, chainsaws and log splitter. 5 gallons lasts me a season and a half

That IS the Home Depot price. *grin* West Coast prices, I guess. $6 a quart. So, I think I'll run down and get a can, see if it helps.
Thanks for the tip! It learn something new every day.

I bought a spendy new screwdriver, then couldn’t find the plug to plug it in so I guess it’s a cordless model.
I think I paid extra for that feature.

Update... I went 14 miles to HD, and found the quart can of Tru-Fuel. Although I had specifically asked for 2-cycle on the phone, all they carry is the 4-cycle, which says NOT FOR 2-CYCLE.
Went back to the truck. Called the local Ace Hardware. Yes, they carry it; yes, they have 2-cycle. Drove another 4 miles, paid $8 for the quart.
Drained the other gas out of it, filled it with the new stuff.
Tried starting it by hand, over and over. Nothing.
Tried starting it with the drill and the new TB gadget. Nothing. Not a hiccough.
I see some used old scythes for sale on Craigslist a few hours away...

Ethanol free gas is not a restorative. It is a preventative.

Yes, what sternwake said. If ethanol is in fact the issue, you'll need to use it and keep using it after the repair place cleans out the carb
again. And my guess is that's what the issue is. These small motors just don't run well or at all with ethanol.

It doesn't do anything. The drill runs, but nothing else does.
So it's not a cure-all, huh?
The repair guy never mentioned the alcohol-free gas.
I guess I'll have to drag it back to him. Maybe the gas IS the problem, and he doesn't tell anyone, so he gets more business.

After reading the reviews, I think that you got a lemon. The complaints are well documented. We have a Stihl brand weed wacker and by using the recommended oil mix we have no problems.
Good luck exchanging it for a better brand.
