How to heat? 
I’m terrified to use propane. Near death experience was scary. 
Would the refrigerator heat up my space some? 
Composting toilet? 
Eat beans? 
Candle and a flowerpot? 
-10 sleeping bag?

My experience while vandwelling leaded me to recommend passive heating. I only used my mr buddy heater twice in two years. Covering windows, blankets, and on cold nights ski caps along with my cat made my night comfortable.

We tried the flower pot thing camping and all it really dI was smoke things up until I tripped over it and broke the pot.

Yeah.  Take the flower pot thing and erase it from your memory banks.

i use the propane furnace as i start a fire in my little coal stove and let that maintain the heat,just need to find a place near by that sell anthracite coal

you in a car or the van? little buddies are convenient but release moisture,if you have 120 electricity a small electric would work,out in nowhere,camp fire then curl up under a bunch of blankets

Would bag charcoal work in a stove like that?

Anthracite often referred to as hard coal. Anthracite has the highest carbon content with fewest impurities.

It is not Charcoal in a bag that will give off poisonous gas and intended for outdoor use only.

If you are afraid of propane for explosion or co2, you don't want charcoal either. The fumes...
Best just have a good sleeping bag. Anything that burns uses up the oxygen and releases combustion byproducts.
