A Tulia Tiny House
#31
Yep...I suspect it will not get weighed, unless NM requires it when it comes time to register it.

Tiny homes are cool and they blew up in cities with stupid high property values. A friend in Vancouver took out his lane garage and put in one. The idea took off. Inside it is very fancy.

yea they are heavier and solid. most tiny home on wheels aren't meant for long term driving unless they do build specifically for that and keep it light and better for road issues. Most tiny homes can easily be moved but alot are built for sitting on the trailer on land and if wanted, easily moved but not for long term hauling, again, unless built specifically for that full on trailer road life.

I also thought about a tiny home on wheels to not pay fixed property taxes. Thoughts went thru my mind on that part for the future maybe Smile

I see in the pic the toilet looks flush type vs. a compost.....I think you said it doesn't have a black tank? seems like it should have a black tank? Just wondering but not sure if ya know tho.

Many tiny home people put in compost toilets instead of going with tanks. Also cuts down costs for some I would think.

Tiny homes and park model RVs don't have black , grey , or fresh tanks ...they are supposed to be hooked up to sewer ,and water from outside.

yea they do popeye. it is what alot of customers are asking for, tanks. Many have them installed on the 'tiny house nation' and 'tiny living' shows I watch.

a tiny home built can be anything ya want. most tiny homes on wheels do end up on land but alot of people, like traveling nurses and more use them and have tanks for convenience while on the road etc.

This one does not have any holding tanks as far as I know...it's gonna be hooked up to facilities, eventually. Holding tanks either have to be pumped, or dumped, implying doing that during travel. This one probably will be moved exactly ONE time.

It is closer in concept to a custom built manufactured home than it is to an RV.

I plan on making another trip this week out to this shop for another bit of business and I will ask a few more questions, but I hate to seem a bit too 'nosey'...but it's just so 'larger than life' (yet tiny) and COOL so it's hard to not be interested in it.

Where I built the 1st cabin there was a small cabin down the 2 track we callef "The Cracker Box" 8'x12' with 2 fold down bunk beds on one side, small rd table w/2 chairs & a small wood cook stove to cook & heat. All you really need for 2 adults. I talked to the building inspector ftom home as we didn't get a permit & he said someone could build all the 150sf buildings you wanted, no permit, no taxes. If I had to do it over I'd build an 8'x18' a ffew inched from an 12'x12' then another8'x18'. one end one for a bunk room the 12'x12' for living room kitchen & to play cards & the other8'x18' for shower, barh, storage. When there I cou;d staple 6 mill plastc between each cabin. There's a you tube of a fold up cabin fits in a pickup wired & all. He srlls plans

As Gomer was famous for saying in that goofy Nohthcowlinah ack-sent: suhPRIZE suhPRIZE suhPRIZE!

I made a brief visit to the shop and asked a few more questions, turns out the builder/owner of the tiny house has decided to sell it.

I was curious....so I asked....of course.

It can be yours for a pawltry 109 thousand dollars!

Line forms to the rear!

(not).
