Today should be ‘finish rebuilding the over-bed shelf’ day.
(before/after pics, of course)
If the shelf works as predicted, then I will can move the raiment duffles.. and need to design a New dog safety net. (Or just spin that seat around- but would that draw unwanted attention..??? Hmmm..)
And maybe a nice oil change this weekend too. And sadly, likely a new battery.. getting aged and noticeably lackluster about starts after sitting for several hours.

Lol. Yeah- I know. And what happened to the 5yr warranty? Jeezz
But the one in there looks to be about 6 yrs old.. and been abused by TX heat..so, with winter coming.. is my best option.
And the beginning of the new shelf.. it is kinda bodge-engineered from bits of stuff and a simple 1x12 from the Lowly .. but I think it should hold

You have doggie stink. Not that this is a bad thing. Dog smell is a great deterrent to rats and mice. Ultra sonic Chirpy flashing lights thingy things. Mmm my nephew has one of the soy wire enviro friendly ford 350diesels. Rats have chewed his wires twice. One requiring a re and re of primary harness. Not cheap. He has deployed all manner of toxic, apparatus driven, and tech flashy. Sticky paper, poison peanut butter, and the autistic Mexican street dog are the methods that work in order. I deployed a well slept in cat blanket under my hood. I had some droppings mouse not rat and a widow black spider. I think scent is the primary motivator.

Gee, thanks.. lol
Thankfully my dog-stink isn't very stinky to humans..
Downside, the need for dog Food --major attractant ! hence my storing puppychows in gamma-seal buckets!!
not perfect, but helps a fair bit.
Will likely also deploy bright under-hood led lights of some sort.. can't hurt. and can also be helpful if I need to work on it after dark.. LOL

Well.. got my new battery..
When you need a new holder, but don’t have one
—and the hold-down rods were a bit corroded. Had to improvise a temporary spacer/retainer out of some heavy plastic to take up the gap. Passes the grab-and-heave test!
My mechanic says “that’ll do fine”. Lol
