Any reason for this choice?

Set it up for? Full time stealth camping at Walmart or driving to Argentina to photograph Alpacas?
You need to be a lot more forthcoming. What do you want to do. Where are you doing it. Who are you doing it with. How comfortable you are with stuff ie food, entertainment, comfort. How’s your health? For example if your diabetic you need a good fridge, as insulin needs to be cooled. Loads of details needed from your end. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

The problem is that you are about to dump a bunch of money into a vehicle that you didn’t research. Will it fit your needs or cause you nothing but neck pain. Only you can figure that out. Are you going full time or part time? What is your situation? Are you hitting the road or staying local?
Lots of things to consider.

The outlander is pretty small.. you are going to have to prioritize your needs over your wants.
Make a list of needs and begin researching how you can safely achieve them. Only You can decide how to best set up the vehicle for Your needs.

Welcome aboard franko !
I'm glad you actually belong here instead of the army of spammers I have to constantly slam the door on !! Sorry , I doubt you will find a ready made blueprint although I suppose there are some out there . Will it fit YOUR needs? hmmmmmmmm there's the hitch. You are about to undertake a journey many of us have navigated. Some more than once ! (I've been playing this game since the early 80s and every rig I've done is a refinement of the previous one.. Refining our ideas as we go is how most do it. We all have had this problem. The best way to set it up is YOUR way. ! A universal design that fits everybody , doubt there is one...everybody needs/wants different things. Custom everything isn't required but sure can make a difference. . But there are some ideas on this for this stage of your build ...Like what solar components are better ? Water storage ideas , How to manage bathroom breaks , etc etc. How about we just discuss one part of the build at a time to sus out your wants and needs ? I think most of us started out with an air mattress and reflectix in the windows ! LOL Not the best choice but a start. Many ideas come during this period. (What do I need to do to replace this air mattress that leaves me sleeping on plywood every time it springs a leak ?) That's how it went for me .... Like the crew has already been asking , we need to know more about your needs ...pointy fingering to specific details with your vision in mind will be much better than just going with somebody else's idea of perfect. You can get ideas here but you are the only one that will be living in it. We can make suggestions and point out hidden issues you might not have thought of though and will be happy to help you on your build. So let's get started ! What is the condition of your new van ? Mechanical issues need to be first before you begin the build. Don't want to go through a bunch of work only to find out you need a motor and tranny , the rust is taking over or it was in a wreck and won't drive in a straight line Was it ever in a flood ? You get the idea ... Now , WHERE do you see yourself going in your new home and what seasonal weather extremes will you find there ? Step one after mechanical is usually waterproofness...soon followed by ventilation ,wiring and insulation , many influencing factors . .
stay tuned
Some things I looked into for my RAV4 (before it got hotter than all get out here) was a roof top tent or a tent that goes out the back of the car. Hatchback tent I guess they're called.
Either of these might be better sleeping quarters for you with your height. My one and only night of sleeping in my RAV (so far) was not comfortable at all. I haven't given up the idea completely, but I definitely need cooler weather. Sort out where/how to sleep first, go from there. There are a lot of youtube videos of SUV camping on Youtube. Watch a few videos to get some ideas.

Here are some links I had saved for my RAV. You may get ideas from here or maybe you can find some specific to your vehicle...

No reply.yet? Hmmmmmm.
Too much to consider? Analysis paralysis ? If instant dwelling is what you're leaning toward. Just get a small camper trailer and done. Probably fit better in it too. (You just missed a deal on an A liner here...)
stay tuned
