If you don't want the shiny showing, don't use shiny in the first place.
Bubble-wrap has almost zero insulating value, an the shiny is actually zerp, it is only for reflecting radiant energy works well. Black insulating foam is my first choice.

I solved it! We bought a 1991 Chevy conversion van. The van is very nice. It has curtains and shades. The reflectix fits the rear and side windows. The magnets we put on hold it fine. The big windows might need reflectix by next summer. If so the shades will hold them in place. The reflectix I made for the old van’s big windows are either an inch too big or an inch too small depending on which window.
I'm not lost. I'm exploring.

That is AWESOME news
let the fun begin.Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk (10-01-2017, 07:31 PM)Snikwahjm Wrote: The gorilla tape didn’t work as good as the metal looking tape. Reflectix makes its own tape. Bought a roll at Home Depot plus giant roll of reflectix. Still have to do the cut, then find felt type fabric to insert when I don't want to be shiny at night. Remove during day.

Some folks are having good luck with using that white foam core foam signboard stuff (just white), or they are using a white cloth over regular cardboard. White doesn't reflect like the ugly alum foil in windows reflectix does, but white doesn't draw the attention and doesn't soak in the heat that a black felt/fabric would. If you have ever seen the white vinyl treatments on commercial vehicles, same basic idea, although there's is a perforated vinyl wrap.
I don't think that there is a high temp white spray paint like there is a hi temp black, otherwise I would suggest that. Best thing for most is professionally applied 5% tint on all windows that it is legal to do so. Or throw a big 15x20 blue tarp over the whole thing, who would notice?
