How not to cook eggs and beans
#1
I put the beans in a jar to soak over night. I forgot to cook them the next day. 3 days later (this morning) I cooked them. The whole house smelled like a giagantic fart. My mom can’t smell anything so she didn’t notice. Eventually I put them through the vitamix and then poured lunch down the drain. So I stuck a couple eggs on high to boil and got busy changing out dirty pants and forgot about the eggs. The smoke detector did not go off when the pan burned dry and the eggs exploded. Have a nice day...
I'm not lost. I'm exploring.

That's ...funny but not!  I did that with soaking beans too. No more than overnight it seems, or they start turning!
and even if refrdgerated!

learned my lesson on that one.  I still burn chit though.. yeah not patient to stand and watch chit boil..  hardly.  I've ruined a few pans but never started a fire or nothin!   Big Grin

My husband is better in the kitchen than I am, And we both know it too. hahaha. I have to give him credit though as he does eat my cooking and sometimes with a straight face.

Thanks for the laugh! Sorry it was not a good food day. Sad

If it makes you feel any better, I attempted to make bean soup the other day for the first time, and I both didn't soak them long enough and apparently didn't cook them long enough, even though it cooked for hours and hours. I added a few spices but didn't know what else to do, so then we tried to eat them and both got nauseous. I stuck them in the fridge hoping to figure out something to do with them later, but finally dumped them out today. I think it's safer to start from scratch again.

Bag of dried pintos, wash them and search for the little rocks that sometimes comes with them. Soak for about 2 hours and then in the crock pot they go with a ham hock, chopped up onion and celery, iodized salt (because most of us are iodine deficient) and pepper to taste and about 4 to 6 cups of water. Set the crock pot to high and let em fiddle for about 6 hours minimum. About an hour before they are ready stir in a little corn starch to thicken the liquid up a little and make up a nice pan of corn bread and get the cleaned green onions ready. Make sure the bedroom windows are open that night...
