Connecting flexible poly tubing?
#1
So on recommendation I used flexible braided poly tubing in the my vehicle's plumbing system, pic below. In a few spots I had to extend the tubing so I used male-male bars and screwable hose clamps.  It leaked, especially the hot water line.  I epoxied it 4 times and it still leaked.  I re-did it three times and heated up the tubing then screwed it down as hard as possible.  It still leaked.  Is this stuff not meant for RVs?  Really wish I had gone with sharkbite

What about using that very thin silicone tape that you use to wrap around the threads of water pipes over the connector ribs?

My stupidity never ceases to amaze me... I just bought switched up to 5/8" barbs rather than 1/2" and it works fine now. To my credit, the tubing says "1/2" interior diameter" so I was following instructions

Another thing to remember about plastics is that there are all different kinds, and even some sub-types within those kinds. Not all adhesives work with all kinds of plastics; the adhesives are designed for specific types. Having one kind that would work with all of them would be too simple.
