Don't camp out while the floor is curring!! Or exploding. A certain level of comfort? I've seen them lick an ice cream after I LICKED it they are not fussy at all. I hesitate to use the same toothbrush twice as I know where my mouth has been LOL!

Build and don't rush. Yes, no one wished for another dollar on their deathbed but we aren't there yet.

Looks good my friend!

Thanks, man.
And i said Comfort, not cleanliness.

And hey- they cope with ME... So....

LOL!
Scott, I tend to assume dogs prefer caretakers who are competent food testers. Smile

GypsyDogs, first, I'm not disputing your math* about skipping AZ this year.
That's a sensible decision...
plus, are there squirrels in AZ?
Or a suitable substitute for the yotes to chase? Smile
I suspect they'd rather stay in OR and supervise you. Wink

You've been sounding down&overwhelmed, so I'm just trying to encourage you to look at the current project state from a minimalist perspective.

What are the essentials?

That's a well focused list. Smile

1. Even with the yotes-security-system, you'll sleep better with something to secure the door.
2a. Do you have some sort of power bank? Can you (barely) get by with it, in a pinch? Are most of your gadgets USB-powerable?
2b. I vaguely recall you have a gas camper stove... if so, you're ok for cooking, plus you & the Yotes (probably?) don't have any complex dietary limitations. Smile
3. Is ventilation adequate for now (i.e. until summer)?
4. I have the impression that as long as they have some padding and a nice view, they'll be happy. Smile That's why I was so delighted by the window video. Smile

It makes sense to get the floor sorted out, since it means you can focus on so much other stuff, however in a real emergency, you could defer it.

I know you want things "complete", since you are an artisan.
Just evaluate the essentials, and congratulate yourself every time you nail a key functional milestone. Smile

P.S. Obligatory Firefly Jayne Cobb quote... "she killed them with math". Wink

The original floor-shrapnel...

got all stretched and distorted.. so had to pull it up and replace it (on xmas eve day.. whee lol)
found something quite similar, and much higher quality- bonus. had to pay- boo. remnant, so really cheap- bonus.

Now I get to try to get creative to hide/protect the seam (remnant was not the dimensions I needed.) if you look north of the bit-set, you can just see the seam
So get to learn another new skill.. whee

And added bonus- I will now have a very low wall- about 1/8", between the 'living room' and the 'bedroom'  LOL

no- I have no idea what went wrong with the 1st floor (don't ya think, If I knew, I wouldn't have let it happen in the first place?)
Even the hardware store guy was stumped...

guess it was a case of the universe giving me the middle finger.. lol

Nice recovery. I normally have to do things twice. Or three times. Hang in there.

so I have figured out a temporary (long term functional) inside door securing method..

just needed to cogitate how to keep it from Murphying locked while in motion.. aka locking me Out
yeah yeah- I Could go in through the rear doors.. but pita.
why not negate that necessity at installation?

(yep, John.. I need road time.. my words are getting longer..lol)

the promised floor pics
Got proper thingey (t-moulding) to 'seam' the floor
got started installing it, and discovered my flooring is not thick enough...
so

made a spacer of sorts.  cut the scrap of the old (warpey) linoleum on a bevel and laid a few layers to fill the gap

and, knowing my luck.. I figured it would find a way to shift, so I screwed the b!*@# down

making dang sure those screws were deep set AND under the molding..
Yes.. my little cargo trailer has a floating floor.. lolol will help offset the mileage hit for the 2nd floor I installed.

now to find threshold trim (it doesn't go under the existing L-angle at the door.. too thick) to secure that edge and keep water/dirt from getting under.. and I need to cut and tack down the perimeter 1/4round stuff.

a ton of painting to do before I can build the bed in.. .. but Soon the Yotes will have a comfy place to abide and enjoy the view.  (they can't see out the window from the floor.. too high up)

Of course, today not much will happen- today I get to go in to work Early, due to tax season.. gotta hand fold thousands of stapled notices, for the entire county, and stuff them into envelopes before the first of the year... whooo
But tomorrow is Saturday, and I will have some 'free time' to get stuff done.
