So it begins...... Battery spot welder
#12
I did a loop around the block on a full battery. .
.65 miles or so,
some very rough sections of roads. eyeball rattlers.
It slows way way down on such surfaces.

Voltage was 27.56 on my return, and i did a few loops in drivewY trying to read the wattmeter between my feet. V was fallling to 25.xx  under full throttle, bouncing back up to 27.5v with load removed.

So the 29.4v Eskate power supply/charger today decided  no load 29.83OCV was acceptable.
I used my CCCV xl4015 bucker to limit this to 29.39v, and allowed 1 amp to flow..

A while later, I  came back to a green light onnpower auppky.  29.39v and 0.08amps flowing into battery.
Disconnect baTtery from bucker and bucker from power aupply.
Battery voltage dropped to 19.36v after a few minutes.

for grins i hook up 29.83v power suppky to 29.36v battery, and 1.43 amps flow amd  battery voltage is 29.65v

ImmediTely disconnect and tKea a few seconds for battery voltage to fall to 29.4.

So it seems the power supply would significantly overcharge all of the 7 cells within the pack.

Also,.once the green light comes on, it is still feeding some  current into the already overcharged battery..

I wonder how many hudgey e bike/scooters, skTes do the same thing.
Surprised one does not read of more E transpotlrt battery fires.

The  kayak trolley showed up.  I tried towing it with the e skate on the rough surfaces, and it struggled.  The trolley wheel hubs is basicalky plastic on steel.bearing surfaces.
I had no lube on this, and it was warm after about 50 yardsat maybee 6mph.

Not lookng too good, towing a sheepdog laden Kayak with this underpowered eskate on rough surfaces, but they are supposed to be resurfaced soon.

Lubed wheel hubs on the trolley will have to happen too. It clIaims 250lb weight Crrying capacity. kayak weights about 50, same as Fiona.

whike the  short wires from battery to speed controller are 16awg, the 3 power wires going to 3 phase motor from ESC, are much thinner, and much longer. they must be dropping tons of Voltage, especially after a few minutes at full throttle.

I can still push to assist the underpowered ESkate too. It might not be so bad on a smoother surface, which starts about 120 yards away.

the motor seems to have the most torque in the 6 to 8 mph raNge, so perhOs once i get to smoother roads and some inertia going it will be OK.

But, mopowermobettah. Might be able to get it with thicker  copper between battery and motor
