So it begins...... Battery spot welder
#88
Tested the black BSW.
Disappointed.
It has 3 power levels, and 99 'gears within each power level'

Have to get it power level 3 and gear 85+ before it adequately welds 0.15 mm strip, and no chance that gear 99 welds 2 layers to battery in one go.

i immediately switched back to ole red, and bumped it up to 90, and again, dual layers of 0.15 at once, welded almost adequately.

The black bsw came with some 0.10mm strip and it can barely weld 2 layers of that at once to battery and they pop off too easily.

So it works, but I expect it needs more battery when thicker than 0.10mm strip is used.

I tried it with xt60 directly to xt60 receptacle instead of through xt90 antispark, and no difference.

I could swap red leads to black to remkve that variable, but they are both 10awg and tye blacks are shorter and a  ut and bolt  ruwhes ring terminal to circuit board, so it shoukd have less resistance.

Its really obvious, with practice, which attempts at welding are successful. the cables between ones hands and between battery and BSW jump, and the size of the glow under the pen tips is just a dead giveaway and senior red makes those leads jump way harder.

Purple BSW still enroute.

Woke up to Li ion wholesale saying my package  already shipped.
