Soooo.
I am continuing the work on the trailer. I need to finish the insulation, rearrange storage under the bed, and add more solar.
Temporarily, and to allow for 'remote panels' I am doing something very Me.
I got a short Heavy Duty Outdoor extension cord, and cut it at a bit longer than the trailer. Then, on the short Female end, put Anderson Power Pole connectors, like I used for the goal zero. The longer Male end will go from the tongue to the controller in the rear. And be mounted to the underside along the frame.
Chose to do it that way, because it is easier to swab road-gunk off the male side than try to dig it out of the female side.
This way I can add a supplemental panel/s to reach sun if I want to park in the shade.  By just using my -adapter- and just plugging it in.  lol

I also want to add a shore power plug option, but that project is for another day.

Got the solar rewired.. much cleaner now..
And got the Aux/Remote panel wired in and working great, so we can park the trailer in the shade and still get power.

Just need to caulk the hole in the floor.

Also took the opportunity to Turn the Controller Sideways!!!

if your controller is mounted low, or over another device- Just Do It.. trust me, it makes seeing and accessing the wire inlets MUCH easier.. and makes for Much less cursing when you no longer need to stand on your head, with a mirror, trying for ages to get the wire ends into the little crimpies...

Sideways looks easier. I am wondering if an engine bay mount would work. I want a solar charge ability for my engine battery set. Anderson connector inside the grill, open suitcase or hang blanket and plug in while camped. The temperature inside an engine bay is going to mess with temperature modulation as, if I am correct, Victron has the sensor inside the unit and not a sense wire. I know I can attach it to the solar suitcase or blanket but that won't sense the temp either. The engine will not be running while solar is charging. But I worry exposure to hot temps in engine bay, day in day out. will mess the sensor up. Any Thoughts?

My best advice- contact Victron and ask them... Smile
and Victron has external wired battery temp sensors... has port for it

If victron says not a good idea, mount the controller on the firewall inside and run the wires outside like a normal install. I just connect a 10 watt panel through a cheap 3 amp pwm controller to my starting battery. I just use those little cheap battery clamps from the controller to the battery. When leaving, unplug (SAE connector) panel from controller and remove clamps from battery. I store it in passenger foot well. I put the panel on my windshield wiper.
