THE ONLY THING I THINK I'M SURE OF IS "LEAD ACID BATTERY"  THAT'S  IF THESE ARE THE BATTERIES  THAT YOU CHECK THE FLUID IN AND ADD DISTILLED WATER TO TOP THEM OFF????

ON THE OTHERS I HAVE HEARD OF LITHIUM BATTERIES.  I'M JUST NOT SURE OF WHAT THEY ARE ARE AND WHEN OR IF THEY ARE BETTER THAN OTHERS.

IS THERE SOMWHERE I CAN FIND THE VARIOUS TYPES OF BATTERIES AND HOW THEY DIFFER FOR SOLAR SYTEMS AND RV/VAN USAGE?

There are many things that I am ignorant about. It isn't a crime or anything to be ashamed of.

Basically anything but Lithium is a lead acid battery in different flavors.


FLA means flooded lead acid battery. It is a battery with liquid that can slosh around and has caps that you use to check the liquid level as well as level of charge.

SLA means sealed flooded lead acid battery. It is just like most lead acid batteries except that there are no caps to check the liquid with.

AGM means absorbent glass mat. This means that there is a mat that holds the liquid against the lead plates and in most cases there is no caps.

A gel battery is just that. A gel substance holds the acid and surrounds the plates. Again no caps



The rest of it is either different sized or brands of batteries.

I do not know who writes the checks but they are big. Each comes with a post it note and your name was on the last one.
