We're just nodding approvingly.
Looks like standard improvisational mechanics to me. Your shade tree certificate is lost in the mail,,, like everybody else's .....
stay tuned

I was conflicted. I know your shade tree mech personally. He’s had his trained paws up in my undercarriage.
So I was being quietly Canadian. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Cammy- how would it melt? It is just holding the butterfly nut on the tie-down rod.. and if the battery is getting hot enough to melt plastic.. I have much bigger issues..lol
![]() Scott- Justin approved it as a fully functional long-term temporary fix. (As it is essentially a makeshift plastic washer under the butterfly) And besides- aren’t you often conflicted?? ![]()

Made some new window inserts. Coroplast (salvaged, not purchased..) cut to fit over the reversible shiny/black reflectix

Zip ties are acceptable ONLY if you trim off the excess. ![]() All battery connections should have protectant coating to prevent hidden cancer on your fittings. Details! Kudos on actually progressing on your build. You have come a long way since Firefly.

I used mahogany 1/8 sheets for my coverings. (Salvaged). To hold them in I used shelf pegs In little holes I drilled. the pegs were kept in the ashtray for easy access. Reflectix helped keep the heat out on sunny days.

GS.. at the time, I was more concerned with having a van that would start (gotta be able to get to work to be able to afford the new battery!)
planning on getting corrosion spray Next payday, as I don’t have any. As for the window covers.. they passed the first and second drive test.. remained in place (for now..) without any holders. Thinking about what I can use to keep them (or whatever) in place in the future Build- That is the nature of this lifestyle- each rig provides shelter and teaches us things about ingenuity, mechanics, and ourselves. And as for the zip tie, I think I will leave it long, just to annoy you! ![]() ((Did I get that right Popeye? Lol))
