(This post was last modified: 07-26-2025, 07:43 PM by Kyz.)
I spent a little time in the bus today. I bought one of those portable ACs just to use on the property here so I could be in the bus a little. But I'm still trying to figure out how to vent the hose out of the bus. Venting the hose out of the bifold doors using a curtain isn't really working because I can't hang a second set of curtains. (I know that makes no sense but that was my plan.) First plan was to vent out the driver's window (foam in windows etc). I did get the foam cut out, but then it dawned on me that I need to use the driver's door to secure the bus still. dang...
My next thought is to put the AC on a step stool (I have one that's 9 inches tall) and see if the hose will reach out of one of the little windows. So plan three coming up.
Plan four, to be determined.
Side note: It's 105 in the bus on average...

I should probably do that too. yep. Thanks for the suggestion.
I moved the bus up near the house today and moved the AC to the back wheelchair lift doors. It was 106 in the bus at that point, and it eventually got down to 74 in the bus (after dark). I haven't tried the step stool yet.
I started washing the bus after dark. It's been so dirty with green stuff on it. I had some leftover cleaner for fiberglass from the RV and that's doing the trick! Just scrubbing wasn't working. I'm not even half way done but I felt accomplished! lol My 17 yr old grandson (who's over 6ft) even helped me reach the parts I couldn't!

Wow , people posting ! Only 4 scammers at the threshold.
yup yup.
That sounds toasty . You and Gypsy are def in the BBQ zone ! Just 88 here .But the sea temp is 59 and it's 200' from my site. A mile or two inland is in the low 90s. I went 8 miles to a boat launch for lunch and the tide was out but chasing the diggers to shore , it comes in fast on the flats ,,,,hot mud !!! Arrrrrgh ! But the water temp will be much warmer there than that 59 @ the weather buoy a few miles out. !
I've had good luck on killing green rig crud by using 50/50 bleach and water in a spray bottle (wear old clothes) spray it on the green (or everywhere is even better) and then just let it dry .
stay tuned

I think this stuff was bleach based, and all my clothes are old lol
I've washed everything on the bus now. I've refilled the water tank (not even halfway though) and tested the new faucet and fixed a leak (he forgot to tighten one thing, so SUPER easy fix). I feel strangely accomplished. I'm ready to start making decals (but probably won't start that for another month). Grandson is starting school soon, dang time flies fast.
The freezer on my 12v fridge/freezer had a large chunk of ice on the bottom so I defrosted that today too.
I made a front cover for my windshield with reflectix. Now to find my shadecloth and hang hooks up over the back window.
It stormed this afternoon late so it was very nice outside right before dark. It was around 76 degrees. Perfect temp! It will be unbearably hot again tomorrow!

More rain, at least one good "storm" seems to roll through every day.
The shade cloth is up and the bus is parked back in it's spot. = )
