Temporary fix for RTR -- battery only
#1
So I need a little more than my vehicle battery and an inverter, I think... To function for 14 days in the SUV, what battery and how do I connect an inverter? I already have the inverter, I think it's 750w modified. I will be charging my cell phone, hotspot and a tablet. I'll be traveling for 3 days, sitting in Quartzsite for 7 or 8 days and then traveling back for 3 days. Suggestions??

I'll text you for his number this weekend! I have a couple of appointments today and I haven't been to bed yet, so probably can't retain much!! Smile

New phone and he's not in it yet.

If you are camped anywhere near us we have 8 USB ports and plenty of power. That goes for anyone reading this. One of the reasons we did Bertha the way we did.

I might have to take you up on that, but it would be nice to have things charge overnight so I don't have to be without them long! Also, I'll be using it more this summer so I can keep practicing Wink

I'd recommend for this trip, to take up bleep on his offer, and also to carry a jumperstarter, and simply use the starter battery in your vehicle for charging of your USB devices. the jumpstarter is simnply in case for if/when you drain it too far.

This will cause a shorter starter battery lifespan, cycling it, but the jump starter insures you are not stranded, but at such a gathering you would not be stranded anyway and could likely get away without having one.

Get one of the 12v USB ports which plugs into a ciggy receptacle if your SUV does not have one. If the Key has to be in the ignition for the ciggy plug to power the USB, then i would recommend getting something like this to bypass the requirement the key be in the ignition.
