So the UPS truck rokks uo, and i meet the driver at the end if the driveway.
The cardboard box is disintegrating, ripped, ounctured, torn, holes everywehre there was not packing tape.
Driver asks I wish to refuse Delivery.
Nah, I say.
I carry box to garage sideways, and a wheel falls out of the box.
Hmm hope there are 3 others inside.
There were.
I thought perhaps the knee pads had self ejected from torn box,
but then discovered what i tbought were the elbow pads, were the knee pads, and the elbow pads were nestled within them.
Pretty useless add ons. they'd do little to nothing if worn and one were to fall on them.
I assembled the board, for grins, and pushed it around a bit.
The pneumatic wheels do absorb bumps nicely, but compared to urethane wheels, have little glide. Max PSI is 35. Quality tires in this size allow 50psi. Not sure where these are, my compressor is in lonely unregistered used van several miles away.
Today, I made a lot of noise, and aluminum dust.
Put 10mm axle.into drill, spin max rpm, held flap sander in angle grinder, to it to make round, and reduce diameter to fit inside kayak cart crossbar.
JBweld sbould be curing as i type, but 24 hour cure window makes tomorrow kayak outing a bust.anyway, but i could use shit wheels and other scupper cart if required.
hmmmm.
The new axleshafts will have wheels located at a 6+ inch wider track width, for far more Kayak stability.
Ball bearings and pneumatic wheels for a much better, lower rolling resistance ride.
The 10S battery and new ESC, should allow at least 20 mph,, and 50% more range.
Fiona is going to need doggles, and a scarf.

I JBWelded the new axles into the kayak cart a few days ago, aligning them as best i could without spending too much time making jigs..
Shit keeps getting shittier on home front, as expected, but I had a window today for some Kayaking exercise, my only way to remain somewhat sane, but perhaps that is presumptuous.
The pneumatic wheels are silent, and roll like a dream.
I paddled us 5.2 miles.
Fiona saw dozens of cormorants, and none of them will forget their barking at.
We returned at a far higher speed and with more battery left, than any other outing, but then the baton was passed and my dad escaped to try and find his own piece of peace.
When he returned I E skated effortlessly to liquor store, and found buy 3 get 3 free Fosters oil cans on special.
Number 4 calls as Fiona snores hard.

Sounds like a perfect day and not in the Lou Reed sense, except for the wobbly pops.
If everyone i know personally or meet has a mental health issue. Does this not indicate normalcy? The ones aware just perhaps a little more intelligent? IDK

The new 10s battery, ESC, and enclosure have been zipted and gaff taped to my long cruiser skate, that has the mountainboard truck and pneumatic wheels on the front, 80mm hub mktkrs on rear.
Carolinasquat style.
Top speed is 22mph or so, and it takes about 3.5 seconds to get there, handles great.
Reluctantly, as I need to actually finish enclosure, i cut the gaff tape and zipties, but not before attaching tbe 7s2p Encloaure to the micro mini, soldering some mr30 phase wire connectors into the singke drive hub trucks.
The micromini now has dual diagonal drive motors.
It is slow, esc limited at 10 mph or so, but the torque is respectable with 73mm wheels, and brakes even more dangerous, as when one goes uo in nose wheellee mode, there is still a wheel on front truck braking.
With a fully charged Battery this AM, I was a but startled at its torquey punch, and decided it had enough torque to tow the Fyak to the launch.
Made it back a few hours later, no issues. the micro mini is easily up to the task, its just a bit slow.
When it gets a 10s battery and esc the speed issue should be null and void, but no rush on that front
I don't really need two boards capable of towing the Fyak. The micro mini does not require removing the front truck to fit in hatch, but it does require I remove both 8" pneumatic wheels from the kayak cart instead of just one, so about same time and effort required.
The midsized skate will also be capable of 22mph. Dont realky want to pull the kayak that fast, but its nice its track is a good 6" wider and mkre stBke with the Pneumatics.

The dual diagonal drive mini Esk8 on 7s2p, has proven itself a half dozen times now, as a capable reliablee Fionayak tow vehicle.
The radar speedo sign which recorded us at 14mph on 700 watt motors, holds a constant 11 when towing into a headwind, and 12mph solo with the dual diagonal. mini.
The asphalt is nowl brand new the whole route.
Smooth and quiet.
Fionayak on 8" pneumatic wheels is silent and nearly drag free
The shortest round-trip route recently required only 1.3 amp hours to return battery to full, about a 0.5ah improvement over average. About 50 watt hours round trip.
The midsize, and the long cruiser are in limbo.
I'VE been gifted an electronic speed controller capable of allowing the end user to customize each and every aspect of power sent from battery to motors, and when braking.
It scares me.
It supposedly can handle 200 amp continuous at 54.6vdc.
That's nearly 11,000 watts.
Note to self, do not acquire electric motors capable.of drawing 11Kw for propelling ekectric skateboard.
Those guys are nutz!
0 to 40mph in 1.8 seconds!

I've returned the midsize 700 deck to service, with my new enclosure and 10s battery, and just took it for a test run.
I was fearing instability/speed wobbles at 22mph, but it felt solid, and nimble.
But the 8" pneumatic tires on the long cruiser, and its longer wheelbase, is so much more comfortable underfoot, absorbing vibrations.
The midsize deck is now encased in fiberglass and epoxy. I sprinkled coarse brown sugar into the epoxy on the deck and pressed it into the soft curing epoxy, and after the epoxy cured, rinsed away the sugar, and the surface texture is like 36 grit sandpaper, but not as sharp.
Transparent, super grippy.
I burned the deck to obscure the original logo
.
The enclosure is very much overbuilt, and I have not exposed the heatsink, to which the ESC is attached, to outside airflow, yet. Not sure i need to.
The 187watt hour 10s2p battery I built, has plenty of room inside the enclosure, and I suspect I could get 12 miles of range out if it, holding steady 16 to 18mph. It can likely easily do 2 round trips to the kayak launch.
The new enclosure could fit 10s3p of 21700s, barely, but I don't think more capacity is required.
The long cruiser will always be the board of choice, unless going into stores, or kayaking.
The long cruiser will be getting jts own custom segmented enclosure, allowing the board to flex.
I could squeeze 60 21700 cells, single stack on the cruiser's underside.
That could be 12s5p or 10s6p.
10s6p of Molicel p42a would be 907watt hours, but also be 291$ of cells alone at current prices, more than the midsize 700 watt skate cost.
12s is slightly more efficient, and would allow higher top speed.
Cant afford more now anyway.
23mph is just about enough too.
Staying 10s allows me to use 2 Makita batteries in series as a range extender pack.
Another 144 watt hours should I need more range, and I have 4 Makita batteries for 288wh.
The new enclosure, and 700 watt truck can be swapped to long cruiser in about 5 minutes.
So I guess it is time to plan the new 10s1p encloaure for the Diagonal mini,.since I have everything required on hand. The mini is so nimble and fun, and light.
It's just that 12mph feels so damn slow after getting used to 22mph.
On 10s it should be much faster, but ultimately the top speed is controlled by the ESC, and the cheap ESC i have for it, is not well regarded.
Maybe brakes as bad as the other 7s ESC.
The programmable 200 amp V-ESC I have, needs a remote and receiver, and it is not likely to be employed anytime soon.
I want the long cruiser to have new large hub motors, with its new battery and Vesc powering it, basically an all terrain board.
But I dont need it, and can't afford it, and have been neglecting the plethora of stick and brick related projects, as the lonely unregistered van rusts away.
I got to make the pneumatic wheeled kayak scupper cart, into a Fiona sled, so.we can escape this nuthouse.

The midsize esk8 got the Fionayak upto 21mph today, on a long straight, slightly downhill, and would easily hold a steady 20mph on the flats.
The pneumatic kayak wheels ride so quiet and with such little drag, I shoud likely reduce their PSI a bit for Fiona ride comfort, and easier pulling across the crushed shells trail.
The 6" wider track makes it very stable.
Fiona seemed to live the extra speed. A little more gusto in her bark, and since i can meet or exceed the speed limit, I dont have to worry about cars trying to pass, super slowly, annoyingly slowly ,dangerously slowly. Fvcking goooo!!
Now I Take the whole lane, and slalom carve, barking the whole time.
As we coasted upto the trail head, I checked the remote. Still said 4 out if 4 bars on the battery.
The new enclosure makes the board a super tight fit into the hatch, but with front truck removed, I can slide it much deeper towards the center, negating its extra weight, in terms if kayak handling.
Also the kart and wheels fits much nicer with the midsize, compared to the diagonal mini.
Paddled close to 6 miles. She ran neck deep for a mike, and swam half a mile
The ride back was full throttle 85% of the time, and we took the long way. When i parked in the driveway, Fiona refused to jump out of the kayak, growled at me when i went to lift her out.
So We went around the block again.

I slapped together a non water chariot based around the kayak cart pneumatic axle, and have yet to go for a ride without Fiona in tow since..
We can get upto 22moh with a fully charged battery and no headwind, and a slight aerodynamic tuck.
I am building my second Esk8 battery, a 10s1p out of Molicel P42a's. 21700 cells which were 4.20$ per cell on black friday.
It will be for the twisty flexy diagonal mini, and thus needs to be a flexible battery.
This Battery will have 4.2 ah at 36 nominal volts, and 45 amp CDR
whereas
My Dmegc 10s 2p battery has 5.2ah at 36v but only a 30amp CDR, continuous diacharge rating.
The Molicel cdr is a bit misleading.
Battery Mooch who tests all sorts of cells says it is more like 35 amps, 45 a.ls until a certain temperature is reached.
No cells should really be held at their CDR, they can do it but will degrade far faster
CDR is usually a trade off with capacity.
Molicel has a better cell, the P45b, which has 4500mah, and not yet availabke, but hopefully soon, the P50b, which has 5.0 amp hours, and can output 400 watts, and charge safely at a 3C rate. This is a significant improvement.
Anyway, I have the programmable VESC, that can set the max battery amps on, and all sorts of other parameters.
The battery i am making will be more capable than the one i previously built, i can set the regenerative braking current higher for stronger brakes, and max battery amps bigher, wbich sbould mean .ore top speed, and higher phase motor amps wbich should mean more low speed torque.
But there are thousand asterix's.
Ideally iI'd put the Vesc i side a new flexible enclosre with 10s5p of P45b cells attached to my long cruiser, but I m a ways from being able to afford that.
So focus now is getting the Vesc into the midsize.
I can put the Molicel flexi battery into the existing enclosure, and range anxiety can be assuaged with a ride and charge solution using Makita and ridgid batteries strapped to the deck, chRging interal battery through a step up converter through the charge port.
If the extra amps availabke from the molicels thriugh the vesc do not make my hub motors more torquey and faster, the Molicels will go into the diagonal mini. I expect at least 18mph from the diagonal mini on 36v nominal. perhaPs too fast for the short wheelbase.
Ive got a Smart 20 amp JBD BMS en route, but it is physically large. JBD has a smaller Smart version was unaware of, which is also cheaper.
With Esk8, most bypass the BMS on discharge, as if it were to disconnect during riding, one could lose their brakes. Also if a discharge BMS is used, it needs to be much larher to handle the huge potential oad of the motors, and take uo valueable rolm.inside the encloaure otherwise dedicated to more batteries.
The low voltage cut off s handled by the Vesc/esc.
My non V ESC supposedly cuts off at 33v. Ive not taken it below 35v. It is obvious torque is way down in this voltage range. I think I have had the ESC limit output, because of thermal throttling, when i was towing Fiona's chariot, and riding hard, accelerating like I stole it.
I did not expose its heatsink to outside air, yet.
I will lose the mph display on thr handheld remote when switching to VESC, but can have bluetooth connectivity to my phone and have even more telemetry data.

Things a bit stressful on the home front with Alzheimers trying to alzhammer everybody.
She has been obsessing on me, and Fiona, and consistently needing to be the victim, requiring me or my dad to be her villain.
This has to happen.
There is no way around it.
But in retrospect that is who she has always been, but now she has the brain capacity of a gnat, and.that unfortunate character failure, is all that remains, the 'poor me!' empathy sponge, who insatiably feeds on souls, a victim always in search of her villain.
Whatever empathy that gets replenished over night, or when I can escape this fucking nuthouse briefly, gets completely depleted first thing in the morning, or.on my return , replaced by numbness, exasperation, and anger and resentment, and when my phone beeps at me with a notification, i just want to slam the damn thing into the fucking wall.
Nothing good comes from it. I never get a notification and feel excitement, only dread, and.obligation, and stress. I often just leave it airplane mode for days at a time, and when I take it out, just clear all notifications without reading them.
I am.completely depleted.of empathy, daily, and neither do I want any, from.anybody.
My only joy is being able to take Fiona kayaking, or just takng her to the water to go swimming and bark at birds.
The electric skateboards have been instrumental to this action, and they are my only sparky type projects.
Fiona and I cruise at least 10 miles a day, her on the chariot, land or water, me.on the skateboard,.its battery and motors propelling us at upto 22mph, tryjng to wash off the toxic neurons.
The Skateboard project's progress stagnates as any task requiring concentration and.mindfulness about the inherent danger of sborted lithium ikn cells, sseems to summon my demented mother who is incapable.of even forming a coherent question or statement, unless she is angry.
Then is just threats, like 'get out of my house' and' I'm calling the cops and having you arrested, and 'poor me ' and 'if you dont do this, then I am going to do this'... wbhich reminds me.f my childhood, and then a rage eclipses everything, and i become.so glad i never wanted, or had kids and this bull shit circle cycle ends with me.
Then she complains about my stressed out saint of a father, then complains to him about me, the to me about him, over and over and over, relentlessly, but no two words actually make any sense unless one has gotten somewhaT used to word salad and.knows the pattern.
I swear I will have the means and ability to self euthanize well before I ever descend to that level, and perhaps even well before.
Fuck this disease, and humanity in general.
Bullies who claim to be victims, should be culled.
